Manatee County has seem to embrace this thought but it seems the City of Sarasota does not!
The company that they have written into this budget is from New Jersey! There are plenty of Security Dealers and Integrators in the surrounding Sarasota and Manatee County area that can handle this type of installation. The wireless mesh technology and MegaPixel Cameras discussed in the article are widely available through distribution, systems that have the ability to store the video information at a remote location but as well at the camera. The video analytics that he mentions ias as well widely available.
This is another poor decision by the City Police Dept not to help the surrounding local businesses.
