Any non-registered voter wishing to cast a ballot in the City Commission runoff election May 10 must register to vote today.
No candidate received more than 50% of the vote in the District 1 race in March, so the top two candidates, Willie Shaw and Linda Holland, will face each other in the runoff.
Both candidates are vying to replace retiring Commissioner Fredd Atkins.
District 1 runs roughly north of Main Street and east of Tamiami Trail. Only residents in that area are eligible to vote in the runoff.
To register with the supervisor of elections office, go to 101 S. Washington Blvd., call 861-8600 or visit www.srqelections.com.
