Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport officials expect to hear at the end of April whether the airport will add another airline to its roster.
German-based Condor Airlines is considering a twice-per-week non-stop flight between Sarasota and Frankfurt, Germany.
“It would be a great thing for the community,” said Rick Piccolo, SRQ’s president and CEO. “It would have a $50 million impact on the community.”
Condor mainly serves European cities, but has flights to Ft. Lauderdale and the Orlando area. Piccolo believes the airline wants to add a destination on Florida’s West Coast.
If Condor chooses Sarasota, flights on its 767 airplanes would begin in March 2011.

- I think we should have some Aeroflot flights to SRQ. The cold war is over.
