The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office arrested an 18-year-old man for burglaries in a neighborhood near Family Park at 10:10 p.m. last night.

A resident called the Sheriff’s Office to report that he and another neighbor were holding Austin Pokornik inside a vehicle he was burglarizing. The man spotted Porkornik trying car-door handles, and breaking into unlocked vehicles, according to a news release.

The Sheriff’s Office charged Pokornik, who is currently on probation, with two counts of burglary, four counts of possession of burglary tools, four counts of attempted burglary and for violating his court-order curfew.
