At least 30 cars lined Avenida De Mayo when the Budweiser Clydesdales trotted through Siesta Key Village March 4.
The two-way street east of the Village has served as overflow parking during season when the public parking lot is full. But, that could change today, after the Sarasota County Traffic Advisory Council considers a request from a property owner to prohibit parking on one side of the road.
Marlene Merkle will make the request at the council’s meeting at 2 p.m., at the R.L. Anderson Administration Center in Venice.
