For most of her life, Shayna Teicher searched for the ultimate beauty experience that would leave her feeling relaxed, beautiful and pampered — without spending a fortune. After the quest left her unfulfilled time and again, Teicher opened the Butterfly Effect last October, at The Shoppes at Citrus Square.
The holistic boutique carries bath, beauty and skincare products, in addition to custom-blended mineral makeup that looks flawless and feels weightless.
“I always had skin issues and wanted to create the experience that I had always been looking for,” Teicher said. “When people come in and ask me to recommend something, it’s important to me that they try out products and go home with the right one.”
The Butterfly Effect carries product lines that give back in various ways, whether to their employees or communities. Each month, Teicher donates a portion of all the sales to a different organization. Sometimes, it means a meal for a person facing hunger. Often, it's shoes for a child who is without.
“It’s great that we can have the confidence in doing something really important for our skin and taking care of ourselves, which gives us better tools to take care of other people,” Teicher said. “I prefer to see my hard-earned money really make a positive difference in the world.”
