The contractor building the Palm Avenue parking garage has released a construction schedule for March.
Suffolk Construction is beginning utility work this month, and this week it will begin to clear the alley to give utility companies access to the site.
Next week, Teco energy is expected to begin relocating a gas line on the property, and the week of March 22, Suffolk will start digging trenches for Florida Power and Light to relocate its wiring.
Construction on the actual garage building is scheduled to begin April 1.
“We are on the schedule that we anticipated, and we’re excited to get this project under way,” said Michael Beaumier, Suffolk Construction vice president.
The Palm Avenue parking garage will consist of about 700 parking spaces on five parking levels. About 14,000 square feet in retail space will make up the ground floor.
