Sarasota County commissioners will consider an application March 6, at the County Commission meeting, to rezone 4 acres at the corner of Bee Ridge Road and Beneva Road to make way for a Walmart Neighborhood Market.
The Sarasota County Planning Commission voted unanimously Feb. 7 to recommend two zoning amendments that would allow construction of roughly 150 parking spaces and the 41,180-square-foot grocery store. The Walmart would replace the River’s Edge Community Church.
The applicant will build a right turn lane on Beneva Road and a south entrance to the property if commissioners approve the amendments.
