If you start seeing Leprechauns hopping around this weekend, you’ll know you’ve had too many “Shamrock Delight” beverages at the United Cerebral Palsy’s Chocolate Sundae party.
The event will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, March 7, at Michael’s On East, featuring 30 vendors. Bonefish Grill will be back again this year to hydrate the crowd with its famous chocolate martinis; and The Polo Grill will give guests a chocolate shock with chocolate-filled syringes. Other local business will delight guests with brownies, chocolate fountains, chocolate-dipped plantains — and even chocolate red wine-braised rabbit. For those on a low-calorie and low-sugar diet, the Healthy Chocolate Company has your fix.
“I think our vendors have as much fun with this as our guests do,” said Zora Frazier with UCP Sarasota-Manatee, Inc. “As of today, we have pre-sold more tickets than we did last year, the day before the event.”
The Easter Bunny will join in the fun this year and offer photos for the young and young at heart for $5. Children attending also will receive gift bags containing a coloring book, crayons and candy.
