Sarasota fugitive taken into custody in East County home

Sarasota County authorities have apprehended a second suspect for shooting at a Sarasota man Friday night.
The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office Fugitive Apprehension Unit and the Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force jointly took Trae Ward into custody from a home in the 7000 block of 44th Court East, in the East County's Barrington Ridge neighborhood, this morning.
The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office arrest his brother, Ryan Ward, 18, in connection with a shooting near 25th Street and Euclicd Avenue in Sarasota Friday, Feb. 22.
Witnesses said Ryan and Trae Ward shot at 44-year-old Henry Salem multiple times after Salem tried to intervene in an altercation between a male and female.
Ryan was arrested Saturday and charged with one count of aggravated assault. Detectives had a warrant for Trae Ward and were seeking his whereabouts.
