+ Signature Sotheby’s announces new associates
Signature Sotheby’s International Realty announced the addition of sales associates Jennifer Garrabrant and Malcolm Calladine Feb. 19.
Garrabrant joins Sotheby’s with 12 years of experience in the real-estate market in North Carolina and Florida — both as an investor and an agent. Prior to joining Sotheby’s, she spent four years with Michael Saunders & Co. as a sales associate.
As a native of England, Calladine began his career in the British Royal Air Force. His tour landed him in Germany, Malta, Cyprus, the Middle East and the United States. Following his time in the Air Force, Calladine operated his own construction business in South Wales. Prior to Sarasota, he and his wife, Marbella, moved to Spain, where Calladine began his real-estate career.
+ Child Safe Inc. welcomes former Goodwill president
Zoltan Karapathy, former president of the Goodwill Foundation, has accepted the position of president of ChildSafe Inc., a not-for-profit program that works in conjunction with area police in North America to prevent child sexual abuse through information, education and advocacy.
During Karapathy’s 11 years of service to Goodwill, approximately $9 million has been raised to support Goodwill Foundation efforts and to fund mission enhancement.
Through Karapathy’s efforts, the Goodwill Mardi Gras Gala Fund/Friend-raiser has become Goodwill’s signature community event and was sold out this year.
“As we say here, no one ever ‘leaves’ Goodwill, but rather is ‘sent’ as a Goodwill missionary to expand human services for a better community,” said the Rev. Donald L. Roberts in a prepared statement.
