The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office arrested Stephen Brewster, 32, marking his 40th arrest, early this morning.

A witness saw Brewster breaking into a car at 5236 Camus Street. The victim called 9-1-1 and the witness followed him in his truck. Deputies spotted Brewster heading east across Honore Avenue and took him into custody.

Brewster's prolific list of arrests include charges of burglary, forgery and use of stolen credit cards. He was released from prison last year and was still on felony probation at the time of his arrest.
