Sarasota Crew members broke three Guinness World Records while rowing on stationary rowing machines at their fourth annual Ergathon Fundraiser. The varsity women's team broke the record for the fastest 100,000 meter row; the mixed junior's team also broke the record for the fastest 100,000 meter row; and the more than 180 participants broke the record for the most members of a team to row 100 meters in an hour.
The event raised money for equipment and scholarships and and the team also spent the past three weeks collecting food donations at its location at Bay Preserve in Osprey and sponsored an All Faith’s food drive during the ergathon.

Third- and fourth-grade students of Temple Beth Sholom had a chance to brush up on their paleontology skills last week while digging for faux dinosaur bones.
Sound of scholars
Local students Caleb Upton and Matthew Vaadi received some help for their upcoming studies to the tune of $1,000 each from the Sarasota Chorus of the Keys. The scholarships were made possible through the Sheridan E. Brown Memorial Scholarship Fund. Both students plan to use the funds toward a career in music.
