John and Marian Morgan, the Sarasota socialites accused of bilking at least $14 million from investors, will go to trial next month in Tampa federal courtroom.
Marian Morgan has waived a detention hearing, giving up a chance to ask to be released on bail. It may have been a tough sell anyway, because the Morgans allegedly fled the country and missed a court date in July.
They were jailed in Sri Lanka in August on a separate bank fraud charge.
The Morgans were extradited to Alexandria, Va. Dec. 10 and were returned to Florida Jan. 5. Both pleaded not guilty and are being held in the Pinellas County Jail.
