A parking lot shed caught fire today, slowing traffic due to a multitude of police cars and fire trucks that blocked Fruitville Road and Central Avenue, while firefighters from the Sarasota County Fire Department worked to cease all flames.
The cause of the fire is unknown. Although the shed reads “Blue Line Inc. Customer Parking,” the company says it doesn’t own the shed.
“Homeless people have been using it to keep warm,” said Mike Regnier, Sarasota County Fire Department battalion chief. “But there’s no electric in it, and nobody was hurt.”
