Sarasota County Administrator Randall Reid will add Jonathan Paul as interim director of transportation Jan. 15.
Paul is another former employee from Alachua County.
He will work as a transitional director to run the department while Sarasota County searches for a replacement for up to six months, according to an email from Assistant County Administrator Tom Harmer to Reid.
Clarke Davis resigned from the position in December after announcing a mathematical error would delay a Sarasota County Commission decision on road impact fees. Commissioners directed staff in 2011 to update construction fees with new data to reflect current economic conditions.
Paul is currently a principal at a Gainesville government-consulting firm, and prior served as Alachua County concurrency and impact fee manager.
