Six candidates will vie for two at-large City Commission seats in the upcoming March election.
The qualifying period ended today at noon. The following political contenders have qualified and will appear on the ballot:
Suzanne Atwell (incumbent)
Susan Chapman
Richard Dorfman
Linda Holland
Kelvin Lumpkin
Pete Theisen
The City Commission election will take place Tuesday, March 12. Early voting will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 2 through Saturday, March 9 and will take place at the Sarasota County Supervisor of Elections office, 101 S. Washington Blvd.
If a runoff is required, it would occur Tuesday, May 14, 2013. Early voting would be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 4 through Saturday, May 11.
