Mountainous mistake 2:20 p.m. — 1200 block of South Tamiami Trail. Shoplifting. A couple walked into a new-age shop. They purchased a few items, and, afterward, the wife decided to get a massage. While she was being kneaded, her husband sat down and picked up a magazine — "The Mountain Astrologer." After the massage, the couple walked toward the exit, and the security alarm sounded. The man had placed the magazine in his bag. He said it was a mistake, but he was arrested anyway.

March 23 High school hooky 12:18 p.m. — 800 block of Orange Avenue. Suspicious Incident. A mother told police that her 17-year-old daughter left her high-school campus with an older teenage boy, who took her to Busch Gardens. Police were waiting for the two at school when they returned.

Low rider A utility worker called police to say that he was following an elderly driver, who had two flat tires on the driver’s side of his car. The worker tried unsuccessfully to get the man to stop, so, instead, he put on his hazard lights and followed the man down the street. They were going 20 miles an hour down Tuttle Avenue.

March 9 In shock 6:36 p.m. — 2900 block of Clark Road. Civil Disturbance. A woman called deputies because she was upset at how messy her tenant’s room is and complained that her electric bill has skyrocketed since the tenant arrived. A deputy gave her information on how she can evict her tenant.

Logged down 7:10 p.m. - 3400 block of Clark Drive. Suspicious Incident. A caller reported that someone put several large logs in the middle of the road. It's believed the suspect did it to stop passing drivers to try to rob them.

The complainant sold a man a riding lawnmower. The man stopped making payments on the lawnmower. The complainant asked the sheriff's office for help, and deputies discovered that the man hadn't lived at his listed address since October.
