Fuzion Dance and the Sarasota Chalk Festival teamed up to put on a one-of-a-kind show Monday, Nov. 5, in Burns Court. The dancers performed a production called "3-DANCE" on Kurt Wenner's 3-D chalk piece that he and dozens of other artists created for the 2012 Sarasota Chalk Festival.

Festivalgoers attended the Chalk Chill VIP Party of Friday Nov.2 on Laurel Street. Electrical violinist Willie Royal, from Willie & Lobo and Nicolaas Kraster from Lotus Fire performed while partygoers danced to the music. The atmosphere was fun and festive as people chatted on lounge couches and sipped on drinks.

If only the man with the hand-rolled stogies didn’t cancel last minute, Saturday, Nov. 3 would have been a triple threat at Ocean Blues: Cigar City beer, Cigar Box Guitars, and cigars. The first festival celebrating craft beer and regional roots and blues artists playing hand-made cigar box guitars was a good time for the 100 or so people in attendance. And according to event organizers owner of Ocean Blues Scott Reid and musician Steve Arvey — Sarasota can expect more events like it.

Sarasota Youth Opera to premiere "Little Nemo in Slumberland"

Around 100 students age 8 to 17 will perform in the cast of the first-ever performance of "Little Nemo in Slumberland," commissioned specifically for them. The music is by Daron Aric Hagen and the Libretto by J.D. McClatchy. The two sat down to discuss the creation process.
