Head to Truvy’s Beauty Shop, rather the set of “Steel Magnolias” at The Players Theatre of Sarasota, from 2 to 4 p.m. this Saturday for a haircut and to give to a good cause.
Local hairdressers will provide a cut and style or take a 10-inch hair donation for any attendees to benefit Locks of Love, the nonprofit that gives prosthetic hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children who have lost their hair from a medical condition. The Players staff suggest a minimum donation of $20 (or ten-inches of hair) to participate. “Steel Magnolias” opens Sept. 19 and runs through Sept. 29. Tickets are $25. For more information, call 365-2494.
