There were plenty of cooks in the kitchen Friday, Feb. 22, at Michael’s On East for the third annual Cooking for Wishes event.
Terri Klauber and Denise Mei chaired the event for the third time in a row, and Michael Klauber encouraged people to donate money through his impressive auctioneering skills. Susan Jones helped get the wish auction started by donating $7,000 — the amount an average wish costs.
The sold-out event brought in $65,000 just from the wish auction, live auction and sale of spatula donations.
Check out the video below to see the making of the final course, a pan-seared sugar coated pineapple with fresh berries flambé with brandy served with peach ice cream and caramel sauce.
The Sarasota Exotic Car Fest kicked off the weekend long event Friday, Feb. 22, at the Rectrix Aerodrome.
The evening included displays of classic imported and exotic cars, new luxury cars, jets and motorcycles as well as a fashion show and silent auction. Those who attended were encouraged to come in their best James Bond attire.
Many gentlemen showed up in suits while the ladies broke out slinky, shimmering dresses. People also had fun having their photos taken with the “golden girls” and a James Bond look-alike.
