When the Southwest Florida team hosted the Kitty Michael International Invitational Golf Tournament in past years, the event was held in Naples. But for the first time in the event’s 32-year history, the tournament will take place on Longboat Key.
The 32nd annual Kitty Michael International Invitational Golf Tournament will take place from Sunday, May 2 through Thursday, May 6, on both the Harbourside and Islandside courses at the Longboat Key Club and Resort. The public is invited to attend the women’s golf tournament, which will feature 98 amateur players on teams from Bermuda, Guadeloupe, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, the Bahamas, Canada and Baltusrol, N.J., as well as a Florida team from Ocean Reef, and the Southwest Florida team.
According to Southwest Florida team Captain Liz Findley, teams range from three to 10 players.
“It’s going to be some awesome golf,” Findley said. “There’s a lot of friendship and camaraderie in the tournament.”
