The Longboat Key Public Tennis Center “Who’s B.O.B.?” awards were held Tuesday, March 30, at the center. “B.O.B.” stands for “best of the best” and is determined by men’s doubles matches played each week.
Sixteen to 24 players compete for points in a mini tournament each week. Sixty players total took part this year. At the end of the season, the top-10 players are recognized with awards and, of course, bragging rights.
The top player this year was Allan Thompson. Other players honored were: Ron Morrissette, Jerry Jones, Rich McGrath, Ralph Fernandez, John Beeman, Jim Tarsy, Andy Sawyer, Joe Higgins and Richard Fiori.
