Beth Israel Women (BIW) are doing a major expansion of their Holiday Bazaar for 2009. It will feature a “Pink Elephant” sale of vintage and nearly vintage fashion accessories, including jewelry, handbags, belts, scarves and more. The congregation’s most avid fashion fans are donating treasures from their collections, including a Weiss rhinestone brooch and vintage-but-unused leather totes by Cartier and Hèrmes. The bazaar will also introduce the new BIW cookbook, “The Secret Ingredient,” and offer free samples.
For entertainment, there will be a performance by the Goldie Feldman Academy children’s chorus at 11:30 a.m., plus a big selection of Hanukkah items and children’s toys, babkas from Green’s Bakery, See’s candies, beautiful orchids and a 50/50 raffle.
Bazaar Chairwoman Elise Galinsky says, “Fashionistas, especially vintage collectors, will not want to miss the ‘Pink Elephant’ sale. Temple members are donating amazing things, some of them old, but new.”
The BIW Holiday Bazaar takes place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22, at Temple Beth Israel, 567 Bay Isles Road. Admission is free and open to the public.
