Lois Winett Katz Rose Miles, 83, of Lido Key and Longboat Key, died Oct. 22.
Born Aug. 22, 1930, in Atlantic City, N.J., she lived on Longboat and Lido keys since 1980.
Mrs. Miles was an avid tennis player, benefactor of Israel Tennis Centers, a 2,000-hour volunteer at Sarasota Memorial Hospital and the former owner of Key Island Properties Inc.
She is remembered as a fabulous hostess, master of crossword puzzles and animal-lover.
Mrs. Miles is survived by her husband, Marshall; daughters Brenda, Pamela and Nanette; son, Robert; and five grandchildren.
A memorial gathering will take place from noon to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, at in the card room at L’Elegance, 1800 Ben Franklin Drive, Lido Key.

Golfer scores victory with less than a stroke
The Longboat Key Masters Golf Tournament, which took place March 28 through March 31, at the Resort at Longboat Key Club’s Islandside and Harbourside golf courses came down to less than one stroke’s difference between first-place winner Kevin Preston and second-place winner Michael Russell, of Longboat Key.
