Thomas Jacob Beckett, 80, of Bradenton, died Sept. 20.
Born Jan. 6, 1933, in Oxford, Ohio, he received his bachelor’s degree from Miami University. He practiced accounting in Ohio, then worked for 15 years for a national CPA firm in Tampa before opening his own office in the Sarasota-Bradenton area.
Mr. Beckett was a founding charter member and elder at Christ Church of Longboat Key, Presbyterian, and served as treasurer for the past seven years.
Mr. Beckett is survived by his wife, Marianne; sons Roger and Christopher; and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A funeral took place Sept. 24, in Bradenton.
A church memorial service will take place at a later date.
