Ruth Henry Tiller, 98, of Longboat Key, died Sept. 20.
Born Sept. 20, 1911, in North Carolina, she moved to Longboat Key from Swainsboro, Ga., in 1980. Mrs. Tiller settled in The Village neighborhood behind the home of her daughter, Anna Tiller. Longtime residents may remember her riding her bicycle or walking her daughter’s golden retriever, Daisy, along neighborhood streets.
Mrs. Tiller’s family describes her as the epitome of a southern lady who perfected the art of hospitality and graciousness.
Mrs. Tiller is survived by her son, Chris, of Swainsboro; daughter, Anna, of Longboat Key; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
