Brooke Greenwald Cohen, 45, of Louisville, Ky., and formerly of Longboat Key, died Sept. 7.
A Louisville native, she attended the University of Arizona and was a graduate of Kentucky Country Day, the University of Louisville and Lesley College, where she received a master’s degree in special education. She taught pre-school in private schools and the Jewish Community Center. She was also a licensed Realtor in Ohio and a respected member of the mortgage department at Republic Bank & Trust Company. When not with her friends or family, Ms. Cohen volunteered at the temple and Jewish Community Center.
Ms. Cohen is remembered for her love for her friends and family, particularly her two young boys, Joey and Avery. During her last few months, many friends came to visit, offer their love and support and share the wonderful times they spent together.
Ms. Cohen was preceded in death by her mother, Peggy Greenwald, of Longboat Key, who died in June.
In addition to her sons, Ms. Cohen is survived by her father, Murray Greenwald; brothers Brent and Bart Greenwald; and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will take place from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. with a memorial service following at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 14, at Temple Congregation Adath, 5101 U.S. Highway 42, Louisville, Ky.
