DeAnn Davis, 72, of Bradenton, died July 28.
Born in Pontiac, Mich., she moved to Bradenton in 1975 from Tampa and taught at Anna Maria Island Elementary School for 34 years until she retired in 2010. She was active in the Manatee Education Association and a member of Faith United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Davis’ husband, the late James R. Davis Sr., was active in the Longboat Key community.
Mrs. Davis is survived by her son, James Davis Jr., and daughter, Helen King, both of Bradenton; brother; sister; and four grandchildren.
A celebration of life will take place at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, at Faith United Methodist Church, 601 11th St. W., Bradenton. Memorial donations can be made to a favorite charity or Anna Maria Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization.

A fitting tribute
A day after receiving an Ageless Creativity Award from the Ringling College/Longboat Key Center for the Arts in honor of their late father, Ed Brickman, daughter Carol Diamant and son Eli Brickman held a celebration of life service Saturday.
