Donald James Roosa, 80, of Sarasota and formerly of Longboat Key and Lansing, Mich., died June 27.
Born May 21, 1929, he attended Albion College, in Albion, Mich., and Michigan State University, in East Lansing, Mich.
Mr. Roosa worked in real estate and land development in Michigan. He was a member of the Lansing Masonic Lodge No. 33 and a deacon at First Presbyterian Church of Lansing. He was a volunteer at Sarasota Music Archive for many years.
Mr. Roosa is survived by his wife, Iris; daughter, Karen, of Richmond, Ind.; sons, Steven, of Lansing, and James and David, both of Sarasota; stepdaughters, Cynthia Wilcoxson, of Sarasota, and Charlene Love, of Boston; stepson, Ralph Hartman, of Sarasota; and several grandchildren.
A visitation will take place from 3 to 4 p.m. Thursday, July 2, at Toale Brothers Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, 40 N. Orange Ave., Sarasota. A service will follow at 4 p.m. Burial will be in Venice Memorial Gardens, 1950 Center Road, Venice.
