Benjamin Gilfix, 71, of Longboat Key, died June 11.
Born July 24, 1937, in Newton, Mass., he later moved to Needham, Mass.
Mr. Gilfix graduated from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and became president of G&S Paper Co., before retiring in 1994. He enjoyed painting, crossword puzzles, music and chess, but his greatest source of joy was his family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Benjamin Gilfix to a diabetes research organization of your choice or the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org.
