Dr. Benjamin Immerman
Dr. Benjamin Immerman, 85, of Longboat Key and Great Barrington, Mass., died May 27.
Born Feb. 4, 1924, in the Bronx, N.Y., he was raised in Yonkers, N.Y., and served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II, flying dozens of missions over Germany as a bombardier in the B-17 “Flying Fortress.”
Dr. Immerman graduated from Columbia University and SUNY Downstate Medical Center, both in New York City. He practiced obstetrics and gynecology for nearly 40 years in Forest Hills, N.Y.
Dr. Immerman is survived by his wife of 18 years, Agnes; son Bruce, of Corte Madera, Calif.; step-daughter Jennifer, of Palm Harbor; brother David, of Reading, Mass; and eight nieces and nephews.
Private funeral services will be held in Great Barrington. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Dr. Immerman’s memory to TideWell Hospice and Palliative Care, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, Fla., 34238.
Mary Rooney
Mary Rooney, 89, of Longboat Key, died May 22.
She was born Jan. 23, 1920.
Services were held Thursday, May 28, in Waltham, Mass.
Mrs. Rooney is survived by her sons, Eugene Jr. and David; and daughters, Ellen and Mary Elizabeth Rooney-Faucher.
