Eugene Eckman, 83, of Sarasota and formerly of Buffalo, N.Y., died May 1. Born Sept. 5, 1929, he retired from General Motors in Buffalo and worked for many years at Longboat Key Publix after
Mr. Eckman is survived by his wife of 63 years, Hildegard; children David, Linda, Jennifer, Thomas, Victoria, Matthew and Christopher; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
