Robert I. Gephart, 79, of Sarasota, died March 16.
Born in Circleville, Ohio, Mr. Gephart graduated from DePauw University, in Greencastle, Ind., where he was a member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. Following his tenure in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1963, he studied at the University of Wisconsin’s Graduate School of Banking. He worked in the banking business in Barrington, Ill., for 32 years before relocating in 1988 to Sarasota.
Mr. Gephart worshipped at St. Mary, Star of the Sea, Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Phyllis; son, Michael; daughter, Ann Moore; brother, Gene; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 5, which would have been his 80th birthday, at St. Mary, Star of the Sea, Catholic Church, 4280 Gulf of Mexico Drive. Inurnment will follow in the church’s memorial garden.
