Iris Kathleen Hill, of Hamilton, Ontario, and Longboat Key, died March 16.
Mrs. Hill was born in Coseley, England, and at the age of 29, she, her husband and her daughter, Pip, immigrated to Canada. They resided in Ancaster, Ontario, where the couple raised three children.
Mrs. Hill worked for 30 years as a legal secretary for various firms in Hamilton. She and her husband, Dennis, enjoyed 25 years wintering on Longboat Key, where they enjoyed great friends, long walks on the beach, the local wildlife and numerous visits from friends and family. The Hills also enjoyed many years at their cottage on Lake Conestogo, in Ontario. Mrs. Hill was most passionate about the environment, animals and conservation.
Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis.
She is survived by her brother, Frank Mills; three children, Pip Mitten, Libby Knowles and David Hill; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of her life will occur in Ancaster, Ontario, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation of Canada.
