The 2010 Sarasota Area Crop Walk will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 21, starting at St. Armands Key Lutheran Church. The annual fundraiser supports the worldwide programs of Church World Service, which aims to end world hunger.
Participants will join the ranks of more than five million people who have participated in the event over the last two decades.
Lynn Blackledge, coordinator of the Crop Walk for St. Armands Key Lutheran Church, encourages walkers of all ages to participate.
“Weelchairs, strollers and wagons to pull youngsters are always welcome,” says Blackledge.
Registration for the event, which will be held rain or shine, begins at 1:30 p.m. For more information or to register in advance, contact the Rev. Paul Binder at 922-8633.
