Edward Lill, of Longboat Key and formerly of Madison, N.J., died Feb. 6. He was 79.
Mr. Lill grew up in West Paterson, N.J., then moved to Madison, N.J., where he and his wife, Dorothy, raised their three sons: Edward, Kenneth and Stephen. For the last several years, the Lills resided on Longboat Key.
After graduating from Seton Hall University, Mr. Lill spent the majority of his career as a CPA at Deloitte, formerly Haskins and Sells, serving as vice chairman at his retirement. He also served as CFO of EF Hutton for three years.
Mr. Lill served as the first non-attorney on the board of the Practicing Law Institute. He was also on the board of Pace University. He was an active member of the Lake Hopatcong Yacht Club for more than 40 years, serving in a number of positions, including commodore from 1992 to 1993. Since moving to Florida, he had been active in the L’Ambiance Condominium Association, serving in positions of treasurer and president. He was also a member of the Morris County Golf Club and the Longboat Key Club.
He was preceded in death by his son, Stephen.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; brother, Jack Valle; sons, Edward and Kenneth; and three granddaughters.
The funeral was held in Madison, N.J. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
