Longboat Key Club & Resort banquet chef Juan Luis Torres and his wife, Lisa, have exciting family news to share.
Their daughter is now Dr. Carina Marie Torres, having graduated in May from the University of Medicine and Dentistry, in Newark, N.J., with her doctorate in physical therapy. At the graduation, she received awards for excellence in academics, research, service, professional leadership and for service on the professional leadership council.
She is now working as a pediatric physical therapist at The Caldwell Pediatric Therapy Center, in West Caldwell, N.J., and has been asked to speak at the American Physical Therapy Association conference in Arlington, Va.
Their son, Juan Luis Torres II, recently transitioned to stage manager for Disney Cruise Line, aboard the Disney Magic, after working for five years as a stage manager at Walt Disney World.
He sails out of Galveston, Texas, and is now sailing from the Cayman Islands to Costa Maya to Cozumel, Mexico.
