The Longboat Key Turtle Watch, thanks to support from volunteer efforts, the community and a Harry’s Continental Kitchens wine tasting fundraiser, announced its 2011 donations to Mote Marine Laboratory. In total: $1,000 will go toward educational outreach in local schools; $620 will go to two campers for summer camp; $500 will go toward printing of educational material; $200 will go toward GPS hand-held devices; $529 will go to sea-turtle rehabilitation; and $500 will go toward the sea turtle exhibit. The donations total $3,349.
