+ Ticket sales remain steady
for St. Jude luncheon
This is it — the last few days to buy your St. Jude Gourmet Luncheon tickets for $25 each. If you wait until Saturday’s luncheon, the price will be $30 at the gate.
Members of the Longboat Key Kiwanis Club — organizers of the annual event — say they’re expecting a crowd of about 750 people at the 28th annual luncheon and raffle, which benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the Longboat Key Kiwanis Foundation Scholarship Fund for local students. More than 25 of the area’s top restaurants will serve signature dishes.
Kiwanis spokesman John Wild says raffle tickets for the 2010 Ford Fusion or $20,000 in cash have been selling steadily and are expected to be close to sold out. The club sells only 350 raffle tickets at $100 apiece.
In addition to the top prize of a new car or cash, the raffle prizes include three days, two nights in a Gulf-front suite at the Longboat Key Club and Resort; $1,000 in vouchers to four Sarasota arts performances; $200 vouchers each to the Longboat Key Center for the Arts and the Longboat Key Education Center; dinner for two at Maison Blanche; Sunday brunch at the Ritz-Carlton, Sarasota; and two $25 certificates to Tommy Bahamas.
The luncheon will run from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, in the Temple Beth Israel parking lot, 567 Bay Isles Road.
