Longboat Key resident Gladys Blair had a few more than 16 candles to blow out Friday, Sept. 14 — 95 candles, to be exact. Blair celebrated her 95th birthday with family, neighbors and friends over dinner Saturday, Sept. 15, at The Lazy Lobster on Longboat Key. Blair was born in Harvard, Ill., and has lived on Longboat Key for 15 years.

The Good News: Children First
Children First hopes to raise funds to provide an appropriate space for waitlisted children as well as money to scholarship them, which costs between $9,000 and $10,000 per year, per student, for educational programs, screenings, family counseling and food.
