Rusty Chinnis snaps up four outdoor writing awards

Longboat Key resident Rusty Chinnis received four awards in the 2010 Florida Outdoor Writers Association Excellence in Crafts Awards Competition. Chinnis won first place in the photography category for his photo, “The Permit Whisperer”; second place in the outdoor travel/destination story and magazine feature categories for “History of Homosassa”; and second place in the photography/photojournalism category for “Perspective — Forty Plus Club.”
Chinnis is a past president of the Florida Outdoor Writers Association and president of Outdoor Travel Productions Inc. All pieces appeared in Fly Fishing in Saltwaters Magazine, to which Chinnis is a contributing editor.
