When Bobbie Banan read “A general mystery” in the July 23 issue, she took a trip down memory lane.
Her father, Russ Bamford, a career mechanic, helped Gen. Richard Montgomery put together the kit car that would become the “Gee-Bee.” It was 1974, and Bamford was vacationing at Banan’s home on Bayview Drive, the street where Montgomery lived, as well.
Banan said her father enjoyed every minute he helped Montgomery put the car together.
