About 70 Longboat Harbour residents gathered Saturday, July 4, for a holiday celebration. The tables were decked out in red, white and blue decorations, courtesy of Maggie Edger and her team of organizers.
After the group sat down to supper, teens Lexie and Margo Schnapf performed patriotic songs for the crowd, including an original song, “Boom Chicka Boom.”

PHOTO OF THE DAY: Leaving the Nest
Unhatched sea turtle eggs lay on the beach after Cyndi Seamon, a longtime Longboat Key Turtle Watch volunteer, excavated a nest Wednesday, July 9.
