The latest violation of the sign code was spotted Saturday night — or should we say “violations.” Eight handwritten signs were attached to trolley signs down the Key, starting at Club Longboat and going south to the Longboat Key Club and Resort.
Each sign was a declaration of love from the writer to his or her beloved, along with a plea for forgiveness …
The writer must have been desperate, blatantly violating the town’s sign code as a means to make amends.
Not only were the signs taped to trolley signs, which is clearly a no-no, but some signs used more than the three different colors that are allowed per sign.
Next time you’re in the doghouse, you might want to stick to primary colors — and your own yard.
