The Longboat Key Historical Society has reprinted 750 copies of “From Calusas to Condominiums” by Ralph Hunter, founder of The Longboat Observer. The Romanach and Casella families compete in a cornhole tournament July 12, at Sun ‘n Sea Cottages. The families have been vacationing on Longboat Key for over 14 years and six years ago, decided to organize and play in a cornhole tournament during their stay.
Beach project wraps up
Approximately 100,000 cubic yards of sand was placed on the north end of the Key from North Shore Road to Broadway.
