More than 300 people turned out Jan. 26 for the second annual Charity Golf Classic and Texas Hold ’Em Tournament benefiting the Taylor Emmons Scholarship fund, which provides opportunities for socio-economically diverse students to attend The Out-of-Door Academy’s upper school in Lakewood Ranch.
The event was held on what would have been the 22nd birthday of Taylor Emmons, a former ODA student who was killed.
This year’s event also included a diamond giveaway program, which raised an additional $10,000 for the cause.
In total, the event raised just more than $160,000 in revenue.
