The Longboat Key Historical Society’s museum closed in 2012, but the Historical Society certainly isn’t history.
Now, it needs volunteers to help keep it alive. Volunteers are needed not only to help with the group’s programs and events, but also to conduct research and interviews of longtime residents.
Interested volunteers should attend the next Historical Society lecture, which will feature a bald eagle update from John Ginevan at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, at Christ Church of Longboat Key, Presbyterian, 6400 Gulf of Mexico Drive.
Contact the Historical Society by email at longboatkeyhistoricalsociety@gmail.com.
