+ Town clerk was a ray of sunshine for Duncan
Longboat Key Town Commissioner Jack Duncan was stranded in Washington, D.C., last week because of snow storms that struck while he was in the capital on Manasota League of Cities business.
The three-day trip turned into six days. But, throughout the ordeal, Town Clerk Trish Granger helped him find a viable plane ticket as he searched for a way home.
“My dear wife is here, and she gave up a lot sooner than she (Trish) did,” said Duncan, who did not make it home for Valentine’s Day.
To say thanks, Duncan presented Granger with a bouquet of flowers at the commission’s Tuesday workshop.
