+ For Tiny’s owner, a huge celebration
Many of the more than 200 people that attended a memorial service Saturday, Jan. 30 for Susan “Susie” Vaught were her friends from Tiny’s of Longboat Key.
“We’ve got a church full of sinners,” joked Terry Griffin, while speaking at the service at Longboat Island Chapel.
The group shared memories of Vaught and sang “You are my Sunshine.” Then, they headed to Tiny’s to continue the party, where Vaught’s favorite band, Blues Pig, played. Vaught’s husband, Dave, and friend and Tiny’s bartender Deb Messina plan to keep the party going — Tiny’s is still open for business.
